OBITUARY: ALICE CHILDS STEBBINS

Mrs Alice Childs Stebbins was born in Willmington, Vermont, May 14th, 1839
and hence was sixty-five years, three months and nineteen days old at the
time of her death which occurred Saturday evening. She came to Michigan
in 1865 when twenty six years of age and the following year married Mr.
O. G. Stebbins of this village and had made this place her home ever since.
She is survived by her husband, a son and daughter, all of whom are well
known to the residents of Vermontville. For some time Mrs Stebbins had
been in poor health but was not considered as being in a serious condition
until a few days before her death.

The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon at the residence on West Main
Street, Rev. Haynes conducting the services and Mr. Stebbins left on the
evening train for the old home at Willmington, Vermont, where the interment
will take place.

Those present from out of town were the son, Mr. Howard Stebbins of Chicago,
Mrs. Fred Macey and Mrs Fremont Lathrope of Grand Rapids, cousins of Mrs.
Stebbins.
