Sophie Starks, 87, of Olivet, died Nov. 23, 1988, at Oaklawn Hospital in
Marshall.

Mrs. Starks was born in Germany, the daughter of Peter & Anna (Untch)Shassburger,
and had been an Olivet resident since 1925. She was the semi-retired owner/operator
of Starks Beauty Shop in Olivet which she had operated from 1926 until
the present. She attended the Olivet Congregational Church and was a former
member of the Olivet Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fay A. Starks on Nov. 3, 1954.

Mrs. Starks willed her body to medical science. Memorial services were
held Dec. 1 at the Olivet Congregational Church. Arrangment by Burkhead-Green
Funeral Home, Olivet.
