Mr. Sloan was born in Rahway, N.J. He attended Staple High School in West Point, Conn.; John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md.; and the University of Connecticut School of Law in West Hartford, Conn. He moved from Lansing to Vermontville in 1988. He was employed at Tamareck of Okemos, where he was a "Direct Care" team member for brain-injured adults. He did tax work independently and as a manager of Beneficial Tax Center of Lansing. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Vermontville. Mr. Sloan is survived by his wife; one son and one daughter Services were held Oct. 24 at the First Congregational Church of Vermontville.
