[Perhaps from the Woodland News of Woodland, MI] "In Memorum Died at her home in south-west Sunfield at 4:00 P. M. Friday, Sept. 28, Emily A. Weeks. She was born in Savannah, Huron county, Ohio, Aug. 8th, 1848, and united in marriage to Schuyler Weeks Sept. 5, 1867. She came to the present homestead May 1, 1873, with her husband and two little boys, and lived there continously until called to that bourn from which no traveler returns. Her husband and five sons, Herman, Clarence, Wilbur, Ralph and Orlando all survive her. Funeral services were held ath the Kilpatrick U.B. church, of which she has been a faithful member for 33 years, at 2:30 P. M. Sunday, September 30, and was attended by a concourse of the old friends and neighbors, who like herself, have grown old in the community, and many in the church. She was afflicted for many years and endured much pain but was _____ not only a loyal Christian but a valiant worker in the church and her memory will be cherished by a host of friends whose lives are better for her having lived. We have lost a patient and loving wife and mother and Heaven has gained a friend. Is it true, O Christ in heaven, That the highest suffer most? That the strongest wander farthest, And most hopelessly are lost? Does the mark of rank in nature Show capacity for pain? Does the anguish of the singer Make the sweetness of the strain?" 1914: THE BRIGHTON, BRIGHTON, MI "Agent Weeks' Father Dead Schuyler Weeks, father of our station agent R. E.
