MARY M. SMITH

Mrs Mary M. Smith died at her home in Mulliken Monday. She was the daughter of 
David and Sarah Shaffer, born in Fulton County, Ohio, November 23, 1855 and moved to 
Sunfield Township with her parents when a small girl. She was married to Eugene B. 
Smith of Vermontville 61 years ago and they have been residents of Mulliken 46 years. 
Mr. Smith died April 12 of this year. Mrs Smith's mother was nearly 102 when she died 
at her home in Sunfield Township.

Mrs smith is survived by two daughters, Mrs Eunice A. Hovey of Mulliken and Mrs 
Bernice Greenameyer, a son Arthur E. Smith of Lansing, and four grandchildren.

The funeral was held at the home today (Thursday), Rev. Schieuter, officiating and burial 
was at the Mulliken Cemetery, H. H. Mapes and son, Jack, were in charge of the funeral.
