Ruth Wildern Smith, 87, of Wellington Farms, Charlotte, died July 14, 1988,
at Hayes Green Beach Hospital, Charlotte, after a short illness.

Mrs. Smith was born in Charlotte and had been a Charlotte resident since returning in 1976.
She was a 1918 graduate of Charlotte High School, had attended Cleary Business
School in Ypsilanti, was currently a member of the Congregational Church
and its Blanche Moyer Circle, was a member of the Charlotte Womans Club,
the Eaton Co. Historical Society, and the Book Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl M. Smith, in 1955.

Memorial services were held July 16 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Chapel,
Charlotte. Interment in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte.
