SERVICES HELD SUNDAY FOR WILLIAM SHERRARD

William J. Sherrard, 72, a retired business man died late Thursday afternoon
August 25 in the Charlotte hospital following a long illness.

Mr. Sherrard was born May 10, 1883 in Sunfield Township, the son of James
and Nellie (England) Sherrard. In December 1903 he was married to Jennie
Hager who preceded him in death. He had lived all of his married life in
and near Vermontville.

Before retirement three years ago, Mr. Sherrard owned and operated a Blacksmith
shop and in recent years was engaged in welding.

Services were conducted Sunday at 3:00 p.m. from the Otto Funeral Home.
Rev. Marcius Taber officiated and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

VERMONTVILLE--William J. Sherrard, 72, a retired blacksmith of Vermontville
died Thursday night in Hayes-Green-Beech hospital, Charlotte. He had been
a blacksmith 50 years before retiring three years ago. Funeral services
will be held at 2 Sunday at the Otto Chapel here. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
