Father Thurma, who has been referred to in the columns of the Journal, died Wednesday forenoon. He was an honored and highly esteemed citizen, a beloved father and husband, and an influential member of the christian community. He will be greatly missed by every one both far and near. His wife and family have sympathy of all. Additional Comments: I believe "Father Thurma" to be Jacob W. Thuma, who resided in Brookfield at the time of his death on August 24, 1881, which is on a Wednesday as stated in the obituary. Also, as suggested, his wife is still living at the time of his death.
