SUICIDE IN CHESTER
Florence White Shot Herself Thursday Night – Buried Sunday

The quiet neighborhood of Chester was shocked by the report that Miss Florence
White had shot herself on Thursday evening about 10 o’clock with suicidal
intent. She had been in poor health for some time, growing despondent on
account of the death of her mother, which occurred about a year ago. She
had kept house for her father and brother but in brooding over the loss
of her mother had rapidly broke down, her mind finally giving way and ending
in the above result. She was with the family in the sitting room till between
9 and 10 o’clock when she went to her room and soon afterwards the family
was startled by the sound of a pistol. On rushing to the room they found
her lying on the floor with a terrible wound in her forehead. Dr. Allen
Moyer was called at once but said there was no hope. She lived till Friday
night. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon.
