B. HAMMOND Clara E. Williams, daughter of Mr and Mrs John B. Williams, was born in Boston, Massachusetts, October 11, 1852. After a brief illness in which all that human hands could do to restore her to health, she passed from this life February 10, 1930. When a small girl, she moved with her parents from Boston to a farm a few miles east of Vermontville. When she was 22 her parents moved into the village of Vermontville. On May 7, 1880 she was united in marriage to Mr Earl Hammond. Their entire married life has been spent in Vermontville. She was a faithful wife, a kind mother, and good neighbor and the world is poorer for her passing. Besides her friends, she leaves her husband, Mr. Earl Hammond and sister, Mrs Addie Briggs and her son, Mr Harry Hammond, all of Vermontville, and one daughter, Mrs Irma Inwood of Chicago. Funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. H. Phillips, and burial was made at Woodlawn cemetery. dz
