It is sometimes referred to as Ames Cemetery, also. It is located in a sheep pasture on the corner of Gresham Highway and Shaytown Road between Charlotte and Vermontville, Eaton, Michigan. The earliest burial was Juan Russell in 1852. The last burial was of Benjamin Lake in 1914. The cemetery sits on a hill in a clump of trees fenced separately from the sheep pasture. There is no sign indicating the presence of this cemetery. My great great grandparents, Moses L. and Elizabeth Hawkins, a grandson Edward R. Hawkins and a daughter Louise (Hawkins) Austin are buried there. It is a very small cemetery. Additional Comments: I have enclosed a picture of the Hawkins monument that is at this cemetery.
