But, we're a home where children live We hold them very dear. And you may find small fingerprints And smudges on the wall. When the kids are gone, we'll clean them up Right now, we're playing ball. For there's once thing of which we're sure, These children are on loan. One day they're always underfoot, Next thing you know, they're gone. That's when we'll have a well-kept house, When they're off on their own. Right now, this is where children live, A loved and lived in home. Thank you for being our children Jim Thayer Jason Jones Rick Thayer Jeff Jones Corey Thayer Inscription on right side of bench: WINGS IN THE WIND On Wings he soared across the sky, Sometimes quite low, other times high. A life among the clouds was fun At morning light, or setting sun. In building his own, he took great pride, To assure success in his long, long ride. O've hill and vale and forest green, and many sights no other has seen. Five thousand miles with nary a map, Except the reverse side of his lap. He flew as did old pilots fly of chance Who call it by "The seat of your pants." Two wings, and time to search and find, where river flow and highway winds. Across the great land of the free; I wish his passenger had been me. I'll ne're forget that answer summer roar, O'vehead in rolls and loops he did soar. In celebrating his return to the air, As if he wanted to stay up there. Little did we know how soon the call, Would come to fly over the wall. Where clouds are silver, soft with love, From the mighty sky pilot up above. Some day he'll fly by once again, For passengers to the golden plain. Where all may share without a tear, Life in the skies of "Another Sphere." Inscription on back of bench: THAYER I'LL THINK OF YOU It's lonely since you went away; You're on my mind each passing day. I long to have you here awhile, to see your face--your happy smile. To have you greet me at the door, or maybe hold my hand once more. But then, if I could have a choice, I'd wish--right now--to hear your voice. I think of you--our shared delights, of taking walks on summer nights. I see you in the moon's bright beams and sense you in the rushing streams. I know someday I will join you there, and then we'll laugh and hug and share. We'll dance down Heaven's avenues; but till that day--I'll think of you.
