Note:  Israel Chapin Wells was born on Sep. 8, 1818 in Gorham, Ontario County, 
New York, USA and died on July 13, 1901 in Eaton Rapids, Eaton County, 
Michigan. 

Veteran - U.S. Navy

Death certificate shows his wife,  Hannah Jane Wells was the daughter of D. 
and Hannah Moore (both of New York), female, white, widowed, married at age 
17, parent of 5 children, 4 living, born October 2, 1836 New York and died on 
May 4, 1909 Eaton Rapids, Eaton Co., Mich at the age of 72 years 7 months and 
2 days, cause of death asthma, chronic Bright's disease and heart. Informant 
Mrs. Jersey of Dansville, Michigan. Burial was on May 6, 1909 Rose Hill 
Cemetery, Eaton Rapids, Michigan.
