VanAntwerp, 52, former village president and store operator here and in Lansing, were held at 2 Monday at the Mapes funeral home. Burial was in Meadowbrook cemetery, Mulliken. Mr. VanAntwerp, a native of Ionia county, spent most of his boyhood in the Sunfield vicinity and later moved to Lansing, where he operated a grocery store and was president of the Lansing Grocers & Meat Dealers association. After his return to Sunfield he operated a general store for many years and served as village president. In recent years he operated a real estate business and while ill conducted dealings from his bedside. He was a member of Lansing BPOE lodge No. 196, Sunfield F&AM No. 455, the DeWitt Clinton consistory and the Methodist church. Surviving are his wife, Belle; two sons, Elmer E. of Lansing and Fred A. of Sunfield; a sister Mrs Gertrude Pickens of Wyandotte, and four grandchildren.
