Ames were united in marriage at the home of Mr. Ames' mother, Mrs. Ella J. Ames, Pleasant street, Friday night, Rev. H.K. Freeman, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. About thirty guests assembled in the parlors which had been prettily adorned with green and cut flowers, the front parlor, where the ceremony occurred, containing a bank charmingly arranged with ferns and potted plants, in front of which the young couple attended by Mr. and Mrs. Bert Brown took their place. Above their heads hung a wedding bell composed of green and white, while in the archway large white letters were suspended, forming the words, "Good Luck." The bride looked dainty in a white gown of rich embroidery and carried a large bouquet of fragrant sweet peas. After the ceremony the guests were seated at a table on the lawn, prettily lighted by electricity, and here they were served with ice cream and cake. Among guests from out of the city were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilcox and children of Grand Rapids, Vernon and Philo Olmsted of Detroit and Everett Pardee and family of Oneida. The young couple were the recipients of many beautiful and useful gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Ames, who have lived here some time, are workers in the Baptist Sunday school and have a large circle of friends who will unite in wishing them a happy and profitable life.
