Sayer took place Thursday evening, August 20, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr and Mrs R. D. Black of Jefferson. The ceremony was performed by Elder A. R. Sandborn, of Saginaw, Michigan in the presence of about thirty (30) guests. The bridal party stood before a bank of golden-rod and lace, and vases of golden rod made the decoration daintily effective. Mrs A. M. Wilkins played the bridal chorus from Lohengrin as the wedding party entered. The bride wore a traveling gown of champagne and carried their marriage seal, the pages of the book being marked by slender shower of golden-rod attached with white chiffon. Miss Ella Black, sister of the bride, was the bridesmaid and wore white. She carried a sheaf bouquet of golden-rod tied with white chiffon. The groom wore a conventional black. Chas. Morris a friend of the groom officiated as best man. He wore dark gray. The Misses Beulah Black, sister of the bride and Katie Sharp served a buffet luncheon in the dining room. Miss Clara Pulver and Mrs Marion Beamer assisted in the parlors. The guests from out of town were Mr and Mrs Wm. Sayer, parents of the groom and Clarence Sayer, cousin of the groom, from Sunfield; Dr. and Mrs A. M. Wilkins of Delta, Ohio; Clara Pulver of Otesgo, Michigan; Chas. Morris of Elkhart, Indiana; Philo Way of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Mrs Harry Fogg of Jonesville, Michigan. Mr and Mrs Sayer unsuccessfully tried to evade the customary rice throwing, amid showers of which with the best wishes of their many friends, they took the train at Pittsford for a short eastern trip after which Mr. Sayer will return to his medical studies at Lafayette, Indiana. Mrs Sayer will remain with her parents indefinitely.
