THUMA in the Town of Brookfield in the County of Eaton and State of Michigan of the age of sixty seven (67) years and being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare in manner following, that is to say: First, I give and bequeath to my wife Eva THUMA all my real estate of the E. ½ of S. W. ¼ except 6 ¼ acres in N. E. corner W. ½ S. E. ¼ except 10 acres on North and all on section No. 13, thirteen, in the Township of Brookfield to have and to hold during her natural life and at her death. I will and bequeath to my sons George and Henry THUMA the above described real estate on condition that they pay to Simon THUMA eleven hundred dollars & to Mary HOYT eight hundred dollars & to the heirs of Sarah SPENCER eight hundred dollars & to Mahala BUCHANAN eight hundred dollars to or paid as follows: Five hundred to be paid two years after the death of my wife & five hundred dollars annually thereafter until principle and interest is all paid: interest of seven per cent to commence two years after the death of my wife & I will that the personal property be sold as soon as convenient after my death to pay my debts. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty first (21st) day of May A.D. 1881, in the year of our Lord one eight hundred and eighty one. The above instrument consisting of two sh____? was at the date thereof signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Jacob W. THUMA as and for his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. Jacob W.
