In 1888 he moved to Detroit & settled, but for reasons of health decided to make Petoskey his permanent home, & last spring purchased 10 acres next west of Dr Engle's property on Kalamazoo Ave, & this fall completed one of the best residences in the city, in which he was expected to pass the remaining years of a life which promised to extend into a green old age, for he was an exceptionally vigorous man.
