Mrs. Katherine Pope, Well Known Oden Woman Taken by Death Sunday

 

            Mrs. Catherine Pope, wife of Ellsworth Pope of Oden passed away 
there last night following an illness of several months duration.  She was 72 
years of age.

            Mrs. Pope was born at Liverpool, England, Dec 18, 1864.  She came 
from England to Cincinnati where she was married to Mr. Pope 28 years ago in 
that city.

            Coming to Northern Michigan the family located at Oden where they 
have since made their home.

            Surviving her, besides the husband, is one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn 
Woodruff of Petosky and Norman Pope of Oden; three grandchildren; two great 
grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Dugan, Cincinnati and a brother, John 
Ward, Cincinnati.

            Mrs. Pope was a member of St. Francis church and of St. Francis 
Altar Society.  Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from St. 
Francis church with burial in the Conway cemetery.

            The body is at the Peter’s Funeral Home where friends may call.
