Information from death certificate at seekingmichigan.org
Augustus Hoot was born in Ohio Jan.22 1832 and died in Mackinaw City April 13, 
1916 at the age of 84 years.  He was the son of Philip Hoot b. Pennsylvania and 
Mary Blakely b. Ireland. At the time of his death he was a widower and the 
father of 9 children, 6 living.  His occupation was listed as farming.  Cause 
of death, Bronchitis.
