Jackson Citizen July 20, 1880
A terrible thunder storm passed over Genesee county, Tuesday morning. A son of 
Phineas Thompson, of Grand Blanc, was killed by lightning. He was churning in the 
cellar at the time. A boy who was with him was badly hurt, but not killed.
