Simpson Charged with Becoming Infatuated with a Woman and Deserting His Family. Isabel Simpson, of Gaines, has filed a petition for divorce from Herbert C. Simpson, on the grounds of extreme cruelty. In her bill of complaint she states that they were married September 27, 1892, at Montreal, Canada, and have one daughter who is six years of age. They have resided in Vermont and New York and also lived in Detroit for a time. Up to the time they lived in Detroit Mrs. Simpson says her husband was all that could be desired, but soon after they arrived in Michigan he became infatuated with another woman and lost interest in his home, neglected his wife and child to spend time and money upon the object of his illicit affection. Mrs. Simpson stated in her bill that at one time Simpson represented to her that he was ill and would have to go to Buffalo for treatment. She now charges that the Buffalo trip was made by her husband to permit him to enjoy the society of the woman who won him from his family. Since May, 1900, Simpson has failed to provide for her support and she has been compelled to work out to support herself and daughter. ------ Fred. E. Bell has filed a bill for divorce from Eva May Bell on the charge of extreme cruelty. The couple were married in 1893 and lived together until May 1, 1901. Bell affirms that his wife went out evenings, spending a great deal of her time with male companions and also visited houses of assignation.
