Flint Journal - June, 1944
BUYTAS - Mrs. Janka Buytas, age 56, died Saturday, June 17, 1944, at St. 
Joseph Hospital.  Funeral services will be from the St. Joseph Roman Catholic 
Church, Hickory St., Rev. Fr. Anthony Czaky officiating.  Burial in New 
Calvary Cemetery. Body will be at the home of Mrs. Albert Chendes, 416 
Marquette St.  Services by the Reigle Funeral Home, 2417 S. Saginaw St.  She 
was born in Hungary, May 8, 1888, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kovacs 
and came to Flint from Detroit in 1913.  She was married June 18, 1907 to 
Michael Buytas at Detroit.  She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic 
Church, Altar Society and Kossuth Society.  Surviving are:  husband Michael; 
three sons, Stephen of Flint; Michael Jr., U.S. Navy; Joseph of West Chester, 
Ill.; daughter Mrs. Albert Chendes of Flint; 5 grandchildren, sister, Tressa 
in Hungary.
