Flint Journal - August 1991
BUYTAS, Joseph G. - Of Flint, age 75, died Wednesday, August 8, 1991 at the 
residence. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, August 30, 1991 at Brown 
Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Road, Rev. James G. Kellermann, officiating,  
Burial at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.  Mr. Buytas will lie in state at the 
funeral home from 4-9 PM Thursday and from 10 AM Fri. until time of service.  
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer 
Society of Emmanuel United Methodist Church.  He was born in Flint, Michigan 
on March 8, 1916.  He married Minnie M. Hesling, December 31, 1939 in Flint.  
Mr. Buytas was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, National Rifle 
Association, and U.A. W. Local 651.  He was employed by AC Spark Plug Division 
as a skilled tradesman.  Surviving are:  wife, Minnie M.; daughter, Diane 
Baker of Swartz Creek; 2 sons, Joseph G. Buytas of Swartz Creek and Michael J. 
Buytas of Columbiaville; six grandchildren; sister Irene Chendes of Farmington 
Hills; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 
Michael and Janka Buytas; 2 brothers, Michael and Steve Buytas.
