Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Keith Childerhose officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park with graveside military salute by Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post # 1452. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12-4 and 6-9PM where a memorial service by the VFW post will be at 7PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post # 1452. Maynard was born January 2, 1923 in Irona, W. Virginia, son of the late Herman and Caroline (Reynolds) Cragg and lived in Clio most of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy CB's during WWII. Maynard married Shirley Severn, August 17, 1946 in Mt. Morris. Mr. Cragg was a member of the Mt. Morris Free Methodist Church and was a life member of the Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post # 1452. He was employed at GM's Ternstedt Division as a tool grinder and machinist, retiring in 1983 and belonged to UAW Local # 326. Surviving are: wife Shirley; 2 children, Dale (Mary Lou) Cragg of Kingsley, Janis Payne of Clio; 5 grandsons, Destry Payne, Daniel Payne, Gary Payne, Chad (Leanne) Cragg, David (Jennifer) Cragg 2 great grandsons, D. J. Payne and Lucas Cragg; 2 brothers, Duane Cragg of Grayling, Ronald (Karen) Selk of Saginaw; sister-in-law, Alice Cragg of Grayling; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Cragg and a sister-in-law, Onalee Cragg.
