Mr. Lee was born in Gwinner, North Dakota, the eldest son of Sander Endresen Lee and Lyda Anderson Lee. He had been a resident of Flint since 1916. He attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. In 1940 he married Naretta Elder in Flint, who died in 1949. Later he married Edna Adams who died in 1979. He served in the military from 1943-1945 as a Staff Sergeant. He had been a member of Salem Lutheran Church since 1936, active on the church council, building fund, treasurer, Sunday School teacher and choir. He had been a member of the Downtown Lions Club for 58 years serving as treasurer for 13 years. He was a member of the Eddy Male Chorus for over 20 years. Mr. Lee was also a member of the Sons of Norway. He was employed by the Flint Loan Company and the Northern Development company of Harrison, Michigan. Surviving are: a daughter Nancy and husband Rev. Charles Lindholm of Glenville, New York; a son, Kermit Lee of Flint; grandchildren, Mialisa Lindholm of Glenville, David-Sven Lindholm of Bosnia, Herzegovina, Craig Lee of Oscoda; three great-grandchildren. Family siblings are Daniel Lee of Gwinner, North Dakota, Sander Lee of Atlanta, Georgia ,Ruth Elder of Flint; many nieces and nephews. Special friends include Marion Atkinson and George Groehsl of Harrison, Michigan. Funeral services were held Friday, October 8, 1999, at Salem Lutheran Church, 2610 Martin Luther King Avenue. Pastor Thulisiiwe N. Beresford officiated with burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church or Downtown Lions Club.
