Flint Journal - March 31, 1949
MITCHELL—Douglas Albert Mitchell, 416 Dell, age 10, died Wednesday, March 30,
1949, at Hurley Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 1:30
P. M. Saturday, April 2, 1949, from Rose Chapel, Algoe-Gundry Mortuary, Rev. G.
Marks officiating.  Burial in Flint Memorial Park.  Body will be at the
mortuary.  Death was accidental.  He was born in Flint, Jan. 2, 1939, son of
Douglas and Luella Mitchell.  He was a student of Lincoln School.  Surviving
are: Parents, Mr. And Mrs. Douglas Mitchell; 2 sisters, Judith and Barbara, both
at home; grandparents, Mrs. George Mitchell of Flint, and Mr. And Mrs. Herbert
L. Dean of Flint; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.


Additional Comments:
This obituary lists as survivors, “nieces and nephews”, but Dougie didn’t have
any at that time.
