Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Monday, Oct. 6, 1947, from the Rose Chapel, Algoe-Gundry Mortuary. Dr. E. H. Longman officiating. Burial in Grace Lawn Cemetery. Body will be at the mortuary. He was born in South Bend, Ind., Aug. 29, 1891, the son of Frank and Mary Mitchell. He was a resident of Flint for 35 years. Surviving are: Wife, Mrs. Hazel Mitchell; 3 sons, Howard and Douglas Mitchell of Flint, Harold Mitchell of Lansing; 1 brother, Chester of Jackson; half-brother, Gus Patsey of Flint; 1 sister, Mrs. Frank Orlouski and 1 half-sister, both of Jackson; 4 grandchildren. Additional Comments: George's real name was Mitchell Pacewicz. In the early 1900's he wanted to "Americanize" his name to avoid discrimination for being Polish.
