Flint Journal - 2 June 1905
Death of Mrs. William Smale-Fanny, widow of the late William Smale, 
contractor & builder, died this morning at 3:30 o'clock at her home, 1009 
Stevens Street, after a lingering illness. The deceased was born in 
Devonshire, England, April 15, 1839. She was reared there & in 1868 was 
married to William Smale, removing to this city thirty-five years ago, and 
residing here since.  She is survived by two sisters & two brothers. Mrs. 
Lewings of Cherton-Fitzpasain. Devonshire, England; Mrs. H. Loveday, of 
Eiston, Devonshire; Edwin Roberts of Tiverton, Devonshire & William Roberts 
of Montrose. She also leaves two nieces, Mabel & Bessie Roberts, which whom 
she had lived since her husband's death several year ago. The
funeral services will be held at the house on Sunday afternoon at 3:00. Rev. 
C.E. Allen will officiate & interment
will be made at Glenwood cemetery.
