NOVEL DYING REQUEST


MRS. WM.WEIMER ASKED THAT FLOWERS BE OMITTED AT HER FUNERAL.

Mrs. Katrina, widow of William Weimer, residing with her daughter, Mrs. William
downing, at 1303 Glenwood Avenue, passed away this morning at 11 o’clock.  Her
demise was due to cancer of the bowels. Mrs. Weimer had been sick for some time
past, though her last illness had been of only two weeks’ duration. At the time
of her death she was 74 years old.

Mrs. Weimer was born in Oberquembauch, Germany, March 5, 1932. She came to the
United States in 1867 and had since made this city her home. Her maiden name was
Katrina Zimmerman. Her husband preceded her in death in 1899.

The deceased is survived by three children, the daughter at whose home she
passed away, a son, John, of this city, and Mrs. William merchant, of Duffield,
Mich. A brother, John Zimmerman father of Sheriff Zimmerman also of this city is
left are left to mourn their loss.

Just before Mrs. Weimer died this morning she called her relatives to her
bedside and requested that all flowers be omitted during the funeral over her
remains. The dying wish of the aged lady will be obeyed and friends are also
requested to kindly observe it.

The funereal will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Downing
residence the Rev. J.R. Niergarth officiating. The remains will be laid to rest
in Glenwood cemetery.
