No dates on this stone. (A Judd Teachout age 19 is listed in Co I, 7th Mi Cav which was formed 1863, making him born about 1844) It is often said that this Randolph Judson is the same person as Judd on the grey monument next to it. The 1860 census shows a Randall Teachout age 9 (1851) brother of a Judd Teachout b. 1845 age 15, both children of Sarah Teachout. The record of this stone calls him Judson and all Civil war records say Judd or Judson, yet Randall or Randolph is on top of the stone. The family would know there were 2 of similar name and added the Randolph (or Randall) on top. The other question is that at 9 years, would Randall/Randolph be joining the war or did he lie about his age.
