SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. ROSE ALLEN
   Mrs. Rose Etta Allen, 84, of Butman township, died Friday at the Hostettler 
Rest Home after an illness of several months. She was born in Paulding County, 
Ohio, October 24, 1872 and had been a resident of Gladwin County since 1902. 
The former Miss Rose Marquart, she was married to William Allen on May 9, 
1891, in Oakwood, Ohio. Her husband preceded her in death on October 8, 1946. 
Surviving are four sons, Wilbert of Gladwin, Earl of Flint, Melvin and Carl, 
both of Midland; two daughters, Mrs. William Cripps Sr. and Mrs. Wilbur Grove, 
both of Gladwin; 34 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; and two great 
grandchildren. Two daughters, Velma, who died in infancy, and Mrs. Ethel 
Cripps, and one son, Andrew Allen, also preceded her in death. Funeral 
services where held on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Sherman Free Methodist 
church. The Rev. Dale Woods officiated and burial was in Ridge cemetery.
