SERVICES THURSDAY FOR WM. ALLEN
   William Augustus Allen, 76, died at his farm home in Butman township 
Tuesday morning, October 8, after a heart attack. Funeral services will be 
held on Thursday afternoon at the Sherman Free Methodist church at 2 o'clock, 
with burial in the Ridge cemetery. Rev. E. Foglesonger will officiate. The 
body will be at the Reigle Funeral Home until Wednesday evening. Mr. Allen was 
born on March 16, 1870 in Carey, Ohio and was married to Rose Marquart on May 
9, 1891 in Oakwood, Ohio. They made their home in Gladwin county for many 
years. Surviving are his wife, Rose; five sons, Wilburt of Gladwin, Earl and 
Melvin, of Flint, Carl of Midland and Andrew, of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. 
Myrta Cripps and Mrs. Mary Groves of Gladwin; 32 grandchildren; and 14 great-
grandchildren. Two daughters, Ethel and Velma, preceded him in death. [Gladwin
