Gladwin County Record
Floyd Neil Allen, 83, of Beaverton, died Wednesday evening, September 4, 2002 
at MidMichigan Medical Center - Gladwin. He was born January 10, 1919 in Ann 
Arbor, son of Floyd J. and Mary L. (Pratt) Allen. He graduated from High Schoo 
in Ann Arbor and attended Cleary Business College. Neil retired from Wirtz 
Manufacturin Co. in Port Huron and moved to the Beaverton area in 1970.
He is survived by his son, Paul (Cheryl) Allen of Fowlerville; two sisters, 
Lucille "Pat" (Paul) Bennett of Midland, and Marguerite Kelley of Chelsea; one 
brother, Dr. Laurence E. Allen of Arizona; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-
grandchildren; his caretaker for many years, Virginia McPhail of Beaverton, 
and her children, John Massaro of West Monroe, New York, Michael Massaro, 
Donna Bentley and Mark (Nancy) Massaro, all of Beaverton.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, David Allen. Funeral 
services took place at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2002 from the Ware-Smith-
Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street, Midland. Rev. Dr. David 
Stout of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church officiated. Burial took place 
in Billing Township Cemetery.
