Anderson, 74, well known Sage Township resident and builder died Tuesday morning in the Gladwin Area Hospital following a long illness. Born in Alpena on November 2, 1900, he came to Gladwin County with his parents in 1906 and then moved to Youngstown, Ohio, in 1919. Mr. Anderson moved back to Gladwin and Sage Township in 1934. He was employed as a carpenter with Sun Oil Company and later was a self-employed home builder. He was a member of the Gladwin First United Methodist Church and the Golden Agers Senior Citizens Club. Mr. Anderson and the former Orathy Butler were married on September 8, 1934, in Mercer, Pa. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Donald and Lowell, both of Gladwin; one daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Marlene) Otto of Gladwin; two brothers, Fern of Youngstown, Ohio and Sam of Pasadena, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Dupont fo St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Elsie Lloyd of Tulsa, Okla. and Mrs. Hattie Brenneman of Portersville, Pa.; and 12 grandchildren. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Byron Hatch will officiate and burial will be in the Ridge Cemetery.
