Mrs. Mary E. Andrist, 80 of 3072 Croll Rd., Beaverton, died Friday, May 10, 
1991, in the Gladwin Nursing Hom after a long illness. Born in Carrollton, 
Aug. 20, 1910, she moved to Gladwin County in 1933 from Detroit. She was a 
member of the Beaverton Church of God and the DeWitt VFW Auxiliary 671. The 
former Mary Crumpacker, she was married to Charles Andrist, April 12, 1929, in 
Detroit. He preceded her in death in 1955.
   Surviving are one son, James of Beaverton; 3 daughters, Mrs. Clarence 
(Betty) Brewer of Whitmore Lake, Mrs. Richard (Jean) Symonds and Mrs Michael 
(Wanda) Mullins of Lansing; one brother, Comer Crumpacker of St. Charles; 3 
sisters, Florence Lake of Nashville, Gladys Combs of Dearborn Heights and 
Stella Cole of Hemlock; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was 
preceded in death by 2 sisters, Eva Sweatland and Mabel Sweatland.
   Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Beaverton Church of God. The 
Rev. Steve Heney officiated and burial was in the Beaverton cemetery. 
Memorials may be made to the church. Arrangements were in charge of the Hall 
Funeral Home.
