Born in Munger on July 25, 1895, he lived in Gladwin County from 1905 to 1945. Mr. Asch was a farmer, stone mason and landscaper. He served in the Red Arrow Division during World War I and was a member of the R.L.D.S. Church, the V.F.W. and American Legion. Mr. Asch and the former Catherin Farney were married in 1920. She preceded him in death. Surviving are 4 sons, Gordon of Webster Grove, Mo., Fred Jr. and Doyle of Midland and Leo of Beaverton; one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Yvonne) Morley of Coleman; 3 brothers, Samuel Jr. of Beaverton, William and David of Midland; 3 sisters, Mrs. Edith Burke and Mrs. Elizabeth Collett of Midland and Mrs. Mabel Grove of Flint; a half-brother L.A. Cheney; 13 grand-grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Rites will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. Elder Leon Methner will officiate and burial will be in the Dale Cemetery.
