Gladwin County Record dated 04-06/1911 Column - 5 Page - 1   
Mrs. Charles W. Barrett, who died at her residence in this city Friday has 
resided in Beaverton for nineteen years. She suffered from a chronic disease 
for 25 years. Mary Jane Godden was born in Ross county, Ohio, May 3, 1854 was 
united in marriage with Charles W. Barrett in 1877. She found her Savior in 
1876, and united with the M. E. church of which she was still a member. She 
was an ideal wife and mother, and a true neighbor and friend, and the entire 
community mourns her loss. She was the mother of three children, Alpha, Clyde 
and Carl, and she leaves her husband, and one son Carl, and daughter-in-law 
who resides in Bay City. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Day of 
Grout at the M.E. church here Sunday. Interment in Dale cemetery.
