Ernest J. Blackmer, 59, of 3245 S. M-18, Beaverton, died Tuesday, March 26, in 
the Midland Hospital Center following a short illness. Born in Lapeer March 7, 
1926, he came to Gladwin County 6 years ago from Caseville. He was employed in 
auto manufacturing.
   Surviving are 4 sons, John and Michael of Port Huron, Ernest Jr. and Edward 
of Caseville; 6 daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Emerick and Mrs. Beth Staver of Port 
Huron, Carolyn of Sebewaing, Mrs. Kathy Armstrong, Linda and Melody of 
Caseville; one brother, Claude of Vassar; 3 sisters, Mrs. Hazel Kolbke of Port 
Huron, Mrs. Caroline DeLong of St. Clair and Mrs. Olive Hunt of Vassar; 15 
grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
   Services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton 
Chapel. The Rev. Mark Moore officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
