Betty E. Blades, 77, of Beaverton, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000 at the 
Tendercare Nursing Home in Clare after a long illness. Born March 4, 1922 in 
Gladwin County, she was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County. Betty married 
Lloyd F. "Mike" Blades, July 14, 1940 in Beaverton. He preceded her in death 
July 18, 1986. She was a homemaker.
   Surviving are two sons, Larry and wife Mary, and Gary and wife Merry, all 
of Beaverton; five sisters, Dorothy Stewart of Mt. Pleasant, Lorraine Elshaw 
of Euclid, Ohio, Velma Blades of Clare, and Claudine Sandula and Beverly 
Brushaber, both of Beaverton; three brothers, Robert Onweller of California, 
Glen Onweller of Gladwin, and Alvin Onweller of Coleman; seven grandchildren; 
five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
   Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton 
Chapel, with Pastor Harold Owens officiating. Burial was in Tobacco Twp. 
(Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton.
