Mrs. Virginia M. Blades, 90, of 2016 Guernsey Rd., Beaverton, died Monday, 
March 3, in the Midland Hospital Center following a short illness. Born in 
Mountain Grove, Mo., on December 9, 1889, she came to Gladwin County in 1933. 
She was a member of the Dale United Methodist Church and a charter member of 
the Dale United Methodist Women. The former Virginia Davis Kennedy, she was 
married to Earl R. Blades on July 17, 1933, in Lansing. He preceded her in 
death April 5, 1979. 
   Surviving are one son, William Kennedy of Beaverton; 2 daughters, Mrs. Myra 
Kennedy Scoby of Mt. Clemens and Mrs. Edward (Barbara) Morgan of Taylor; 2 
step-sons, Adrian and Mike Blades of Beaverton; a step-daughter, Mrs. Jeanne 
Rieley of Lake City; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ida Lauderback and Mrs. Frances Louthan 
of California; 4 brothers, Tom Davis of Arizona and Harry, Daryl and Pee Davis 
of California; one granddaughter and one great grandchild; and many step-
grandchildren and great grandchildren. An infant son also preceded her in 
death.
   Services were held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Dale United Methodist 
Church. The Rev. Bruce Hatch officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery. 
Arrangements were in charge of the Hall Funeral Home.
