James C. Bluntschly, 71, of Beaverton, died May 1, 2003, at MidMichigan 
Medical Center-Midland following a short illness. He was born July 27, 1931, 
to Harry and Viola (Ziegler) Bluntschly in Beaverton. A lineman, he retired 
from Consumers Power in Midland in 1986 after 30 years of service. James was a 
veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a 
life-time resident of Gladwin County and a member of the Community of Christ 
Church in Beaverton and the American Legion Post #0171 in Gladwin. He married 
Alice Bluntschly May 10, 1953, in Alaska. She survives.
   Besides his wife, James is survived by three daughters, Billie Ritter and 
Edie Wiltse of Midland, and Sharon Bluntschly of Beaverton; a son, James 
Bluntschly of Valdex, Alaska; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Claire 
Bluntschly of Garden Grove, CA; three grandchildren and one great grandchild; 
a brother, Conrad Bluntschly of Mt. Pleasant; four sisters, Treva Spencer of 
Kawkawlin, Opal Chambers of Midland, Loretta Hall of Tennessee and Shirley 
Plessner of Essexville; and several nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Jerry, Merle 
and Harvey. Funeral Services were held Monday, May 5, 2003, at 1 p.m. at 
Community of Christ Church in Beaverton with elder Tom Rodabaugh officiating. 
He was buried in Beaverton Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday from noon 
until 7 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton.
