Mrs. Irene M. Boyer, 53, of 2594 Glidden Rd., Beaverton, died Thursday, March 
5, in the Midland Hospital Center after a short illness. Born in Sanford Nov. 
5, 1933, she had spent her lifetime in Gladwin County. She was the Tobacco 
Township Clerk for 11 years. Mrs. Boyer was a member of the Dale United 
Methodist Church, church school superintendent and church treasurer. She was a 
district president of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and a member of 
the Gladwin County VFW Auxiliary Post 7303. The former Irene Crowell, she was 
married to Richard Boyer Sept. 10, 1955, in Beaverton.
   Besides her husband, she is survived by 3 sons, Richard Jr. of Saginaw, 
Steve of Gladwin and James of Birch Run; 2 daughters, Mrs. Dean (Ruthann) 
Stoneburner of Coleman and Shelly of Beaverton; her father and step-mother, 
John and Norma Crowell of Owosso; one brother, Mike of Beaverton; one sister, 
Mrs. Pauline Blades of Beaverton; and 3 grandchildren.
   Services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Dale United Methodist Church. 
The Rev. Janet Larner officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery. 
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society or the Dale church. Arrangements 
were in charge of the Hall Funeral Home.
