Boylen, 83, of Gladwin, died Friday, April 19, at the Gladwin Area Hospital after a long illness, died Friday, April 19, at the Gladwin Area Hospital after a long illness. Born in West Virginia on Feb. 26, 1891, he was a retired well driller and farmer. He came to Gladwin County 41 years ago from West Virginia. Mr. Boylen and the former Anna Clayton were married Sept. 23, 1916, in Jane Lew, W. Va. She preceded him in death on April 4, 1965. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Bernadine Cobb of Beaverton; two sisters, Mrs. Etta VanHorn of Jane Lew, W. Va. and Mrs. Clara Straley of Warren, Ohio; one brother, Harlan of Jane Lew; and six grandchildren. Two sons and one daughter also preceded him in death. Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. Byron Hatch officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
