Broka, 76, of 328 Sears St., Beaverton, died suddenly Monday, Oct. 10, in the Midland Hospital Center. Born in Pinconning, Feb. 8, 1912, he had spent most of his life in Gladwin County. Mr. Broka was a teacher and spent 36 years in education. He was superintendent of the Beaverton schools for 17 years until retiring in 1973. Mr. Broka was a member of the Beaverton United Methodist Church and Beaverton Masonic Lodge 453. Mr. Broka and the former Orrine Wagar were married Oct. 15, 1938, in Gladwin. Besides his wife, he is survived by 4 sons, David of Las Vegas, Nev., William and Harold of Beaverton and Charles of West Branch; 3 brothers, George and Lloyd of Beaverton and James of Coleman; 5 sisters, Mrs. Alma Clore of Gladwin, Mrs. Norma Jean Lakso of Midland, Mrs. Marie Clark of Flint, Luella Broka of Beaverton and Mrs. Clara Peterson of Minneapolis, Minn.; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, David, Feb. 10, 1984 and a sister, Helen Rousseau, Sept. 11, 1987. Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Beaverton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Janet Larner will officiate and burial will be in the Beaverton Cemetery. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held tonight, Wednesday, at 7 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel.
