Isabel S. Brown, 87, of 110 Knox St., Beaverton, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the 
Clare Nursing Home following a long illness. Born in Beaverton Aug. 11, 1898, 
hse had spent her lifetime there. She and her husband operated Brown's Grocery 
fomr 1944 to 1955. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Beaverton United Methodist 
Church, a life member and past worthy matron of the Beaverton O.E.S. 386 and 
the Gladwin County VFW Auxiliary 7303. The former Isabel Mercer, she was 
married to Robert M. Brown Sept. 12, 1920, in Beaverton. He preceded her in 
death Feb. 18, 1946.
   Surviving are 2 sons, Robert of St. Paul, Minn, and Dale of Beaverton, one 
step-daughter, Mrs. Hazel Lamb of Dallas, Texas; 7 grandchildren and 14 great 
grandchildren. Services were held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, 
Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Bruce Hatch officiated and burial was in the Dale 
Cemetery.
