A host of friends were at the services to pay their last respects to this estimable man. His death occurred January 18 after a three-day illness at the home of his son, Robert, in Tobacco township, He was 88 years old. Born in Pittsfield, New York, January 20, 1847, he moved to Akron, Mich., with his parents in 1856. He was married May 1, 1870 to Harriet Blakley of Akron. Mrs. Brown died March 3, 1917. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Eva Trent and Mrs. Angeline Kline of Akron; James Brown of Skandia; Edna Baser, Midland; Kathryn Stephens of Fostoria; Mary Matthews of Beaverton; Jess Brown of Beaverton and Robert Brown of Beaverton. The final rites were conducted by the Rev. Perry Arnold at the Brethren church. Burial was in the Dale cemetery.
