Shirley Vernon Brown, 87, of 5594 South M-18, Beaverton, died Monday, Dec. 26, 
in Eustis, Fla. Born in Edenville on September 11, 1890, he moved to Gladwin 
County 20 years ago from Detroit. Mr. Brown was retired from farming. He was 
married to the former Bertha Swanton on February 14, 1912, in Hope.
   Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Brandon of Beaverton; one 
daughter, Mrs. Harold (Mildred) Wehrle of Beaverton; one brother, Russell of 
Hope; one sister, Mrs. Verna Snyder of Texas; 7 grandchildren and 11 great 
grandchildren. Services were held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, 
Beaverton Chapel. Elder Paul Schoun officiated and burial was in the Dale 
Cemetery.
