Zella C. Brown, 71, of Beaverton, died Monday, Feb. 25, at the Michigan 
Masonic Home in Alma, following a long illness. Born in St. Louis Dec. 5, 
1913, she came to Gladwin County in 1938. She was a member of the Beaverton 
O.E.S. 386 and a past worthy matron. The former Zella Morrow was married to 
Herbert Brown in 1929 in St. Louis. He preceded her in death in 1964.
   Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Ward (Eloise) Russell and Mrs. Herbert 
(Jacqueline) Roehrs of Beaverton and Mrs. Jerry (Terry) Schanhals of 
Anchorage, Alaska; one son, Larry of Anchorage; one sister, Mrs. Cecile Kehl 
of Arizona; 24 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren. Two sons preceded 
her in death, Robert in 1979 and Kenneth in 1978.
   Services were held today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, 
Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Bruce Hatch officiated and burial was in the 
Beaverton Cemetery. An OES memorial service was held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
