He had been in ill health for the past several years. The son of the late John and Lucy Buchan, he was born Aug. 1, 1892, at Benzonia. On January 3, 1919, he was married to the former Gertrude Ladd, of Beaverton. Mr. Buchan worked in the engineering field and with Mrs. Buchan spent 10 yeas as helpers at the Indian Reservation at Mt. Pleasant. After leaving there they came to Beaverton and Mr. Buchan was employed by the Austin Construction Company in Midland until he was forced by ill health to remain at home. Surviving are his wife, Gertrude; two foster sons, Frank Bigelow of Epoufette and Earl Bigelow of Stanton; and one sister, Mrs. Willis Pratt, of Midland; also six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the First Presbyterian church in Beaverton with the Rev. John K. Osborn officiating. The rites were under the auspices of the V.F.W., of which he was a member. Interment was made in the Beaverton cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Welker, Gordon Morris, Lloyd Hagenbaugh, Lloyd Cady, Cecil McKellar, Robert Brown.
